Yesterday we walked long by the river.
We collected rocks.
We hunted for agates…
and even found a few.
Today we walked long, long, long around a spectacular West Coast lake…
Our day in the woods meant no time to prepare a fancy dinner.
But we were together… and H had a chance to wave sticks about. (He never seems to tire of that!)
Sometimes the pace chooses me,
but today we chose the pace… and shifted the space.
This was our Plan B…
Preferring the forest on a beautiful day…
Our family’s sensory break…
I’ll cook turkey dinner on some soon-to-be-rainy Saturday.
My feet may be sore, but my heart is full.
H and Finnegan the Labradoodle are already sleeping soundly.
And now the house is as still as the woods…
With the exception of the kitchen clock that marks each passing moment.
I am lost in thought and appreciation of those I love…
So very thankful…
